Gavà has four industrial estates and 400 hectares of farmland

La indústria és l'activitat econòmica principal de Gavà. La ubicació dels seus polígons industrials a prop de importants vies de comunicació ha fet d'ells un lloc idoni per a la ubicació d'importants empreses. Malgrat això Gavà encara conserva una àmplia zona agrícola on es cultiven tot tipus de productes.

The Agricultural Zone
The town of Gavà has always been closely linked to farming. For centuries, the cultivation of asparagus, grapevines, cereals and fruit was the main economic activity. From the beginning of the 20th century, this began to change, but agriculture remains important. In Gavà there are over 400 hectares of farmland, producing vegetables, including, of course, asparagus, the product which gives its name to one of the most important agricultural shows in Catalonia.

Centre de Suport a l’Empresa (Company Support Centre)
The Les Massotes industrial estate is the location of the Centre de Suport a l’Empresa, opened in 1999. This is a modern building, in the Carrer del Progrés, covering some 3,000 m2. The centre is the headquarters of the council’s Departament de Promoció Econòmica (Economic Promotion Department), and has a large auditorium, meeting rooms, training rooms and an exhibition and presentation area available to companies. Furthermore, there are a number of public business franchises covering the needs of industry.
