A Farm Besieged by Bandits
Built in the 15th century and originally known as Mas Sbert, it was for many years the ancestral home of the Llong family. The farmhouse has a V-shaped roof made of Arabic slate, an asymmetrical façade with two magnificent voussoir-arched doorways, made of red sandstone, and a stucco sundial. Next to the sundial is the date of the building´s restoration: 1833. In 2000, the most recent restoration was completed by the La Sentiu school-workshop and the Gavanenca d´Obres municipal company.

During the 19th century the house was repeatedly attacked by bandits who roamed the country plundering estates. In one such attack, some of the inhabitants of the house were killed defending their property. Close to the house, pottery shards have been found, suggesting that the spot has been inhabited since Iberian-Roman times.

Leisure, Relaxation and Nature
Around Can Llong is a picnic area with tables and barbecues: this is the ideal way to enjoy the scenery and gardens around the house, with woods of pine trees and other Mediterranean species, such as carob and olive trees, evidence of the centuries of cultivation. Walks in the area are a great way to explore the hills, streams, springs, farmhouses in the La Sentiu valley, and the views of the Roca de Migdia.

Can Llong is now a restaurant serving mountain cooking and offering set menus during the week. A few metres from the farmhouse is a small building which is soon to be converted into an information centre for the Parc Natural del Garraf and Gavà Museum, and is currently the headquarters of the La Sentiu residents association.
